Elite Series II Controller Stopped Working

Hey all...!

I have an Elite Series II controller that I'm using on an XBox One S that seems to have decided it doesn't want to work anymore and I have no idea why. (Which is disturbing, since it's not even a year old.)

I used it just fine on Friday, April 8th in the early afternoon, then took a break and started up my system again to play later that night. The controller turned my XBox on as it normally did, but then took me to the "Who's Playing Today?" screen, rather than the screen where I enter my PIN. Once at this screen, however, the controller would do absolutely nothing; none of the buttons, triggers, or anything caused any kind of response in my XBox.

I turned on my old controller... the one that came with the XBox... and it worked just fine; let me enter my PIN, launch into whatever game I wanted, etc, so I thought I could re-pair my Elite controller and be OK. No such luck. The wireless pairing wouldn't even recognize the controller was there, nor would plugging it into the XBox directly with a USB cable. I thought perhaps the controller was low on battery, since the charging light would blink slowly and steadily while I was attempting to do all of this, but even after multiple days of charging (with the Elite series hard case, dock, and cable it came with), nothing has changed.

I've exhausted every option I can think of. Am I doing something wrong / missing something, or is this an issue on the other side of the internet...?
