Elite Series 2 seems used or bad quality

Dear Microsoft Support,

I recently purchased (#8745010576) a new Elite Series 2 controller directly from your website, and I’m disappointed with the build quality—particularly the responsiveness and tactile feel of the face buttons (X, Y, A, and especially B). They feel worn, as if the controller has been used extensively for an extended period, which is unexpected from a brand-new product.

Given the premium price point of this controller, I find this level of quality unacceptable. This is my second Elite Series 2 controller—my previous one, purchased through a third-party retailer, did not have any such issues and felt significantly more refined by comparison.

I am currently considering returning this unit. Please advise on the next steps regarding a return or possible exchange.

about elite series 2, I think this has more problem....

I have 2 elite series 2, my rubber knobs on the hair trigger locks came off too.

And My 'A' button is very bad..

Wow sorry you had to experience such bad luck! I've never had an single issue that is commonly reported by users with either my Series 1 or Series 2 Elite, both work like the day I got them.

Really feel like they pumped out the Series 2 way too fast or too many and a solid amount of them got horrible quality control.

I imagine they will be looking at improving the quality of their regular controllers some time soon, just as they did with improving the Elite controller series 2.
