Recently i bought the elite series 2. It has been about three weeks that I’ve had it and today the d-pad is suddenly having a bug. My remote works fine everywhere else but as soon as i press UP on the d-pad it goes into an infinite loop scrolling up. It
does it in game and even when I am on the home screen. Ive tried resetting the remote and xbox. I tried restoring it to defaults and hard resetting my xbox. Only thing i can think of is disassembling my remote but the issue is I’ve heard it has lots of adhesive
holding the outside together. Anyone know how to fix this infinite d-pad scroll?

    :)

    Hey there captainrussell2,

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to tackle this d-pad scrolling problem. I can totally see how this could be pretty confusing and could lead to frustration. If your controller is only 3 weeks old, then I would recommend getting it
replaced either through the store (I'm unsure if they will do so though) or through Microsoft at Request an Xbox controller replacement
(elite controllers have a 90 day warranty).

    Hope this information was helpful.

    Thanks!

Well i would try that but i can’t get under the button. If you look at the elite series 2 the dpad is under the front plate. It just has part of it that sticks out to lock your preferred d-pad cover on.

That sounds like a possible issue with the pressure trigger on the d-pad. You might want to contact the retailer you bought it through and see if they can replace it for you. If they cannot then you should contact Microsoft to see if they can repair
    it.

Have you checked for firmware updates on the controller with the Xbox Accessories app? Also, what controller are you using so we can better assist in this?

If it's under warranty return it to the store, or contact company if bought online. They will probably arrange a swap over. If you start stripping it down and can't fix it you might make the warranty invalid.
