    I purchased an Elite Series 2 Controller via Microsoft and it was great for the first ~6 months. However, I started to notice play in the LB when downshifting in whatever F1 game was out at the time. I persevered for a while using the back paddles instead and it worked but wasn't great. Around this time, the controller went unresponsive while I was using it. It was turned on which was obvious by the lights on the controller, but it sat in a vegetive state. Annoyed, I sent it for repair and it came back and it worked. Initially, I was impressed by how well Microsoft had repaired it and continued using it for a while longer. But then, around Christmas '22, my LB went unresponsive again, not sending any signal through the controller. For the last half year, I persevered again, disappointed with the quality of repair but hung on for a while longer since it was out of warranty. Now the controller doesn't connect at all. A few nights ago, it did the thing I mentioned above, where it sat in a vegetative state until the battery ran out. To say I am annoyed is an understatement. This shouldn't be happening. I am the only one that uses the controller and it does not move from my desk. Microsoft need to do something about this, but all their support sites are awful, and the virtual agent kept on freezing every time I would go on it. What would you do in my situation? It is ~£75 to repair the controller but I don't trust they will actually fix it this time, since it is a recurring issue. I can't afford to buy another controller and my warranty out. Ideally, Microsoft would recognise this was a shoddy repair and offer to cover the cost but knowing Microsoft, that will not happen, although I am happy to be proven wrong!

    Elite Series 2

    There have been many issues with the Original Xbox Elite Controller Series 2. Peeling grips, sticky "A" button, and faulty bumper buttons were among the common issues at launch. Microsoft appears to have fixed the issues with the Series 2.

    If your controller is under warranty, then repairs are free. If your controller is out of warranty, then you'll be charged a repair fee.

    These terms vary from region to region, if you feel that Microsoft violated these terms and should cover the repair costs, you could go to technical support and express your situation to them. However, if Microsoft has respected all the warranty periods stated in your country's document, Microsoft cannot be held responsible.

    I understand that you have the opinion that it was a bad repair, keep in mind that all repairs are also covered by a warranty period which is stated in the document.

    tried to fill out repair order, but, as mentioned above, those are the only options i got.

    Bumper IS a known issue, as you can see.

    Btw., it doenst matter what caused 2 years warranty, it is in place and i'm in the right to use it.
