    Elite Series 2 Controller not recognized on Windows 7


    I just purchased an Elite Series 2 controller to use on my windows 7 PC. I've connected it with the USB cable provided and the computer recognizes that it's a controller but not an X Box controller...I can't seem to update the driver or otherwise be able
    to use the controller on my PC. I downloaded a driver called "xb1usb.11059.0.140526x64" but I'm not confident this will work on the Elite Series 2 controller and I don't want to brick it. I've tried different cables and different windows 7 PCs in the house
    and I get the same result. I've tried different USB ports on the computer. Does someone know how to fix this issue?

    Xbox Elite Controller 2 will not connect VIA usb or Bluetooth to my pc

    The original XBox Elite controller requires the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 so without that adapter it will not be recognized properly by Windows. The newer, Elite Series 2 can connect to a Windows 10 PC without the need of an adapter.

    I don't think there will be a driver for elite controller 2 for Windows 7. Windows 7 has been out of support since the beginning of the year.

    Did you find a solution to this problem? I updated my Elite series 2 yesterday, and now I have the exact same problem. Elite series 2 is recognized as a regular xbox controller and does connect via bluetooth, but doesnt work. Connected via USB-c the XBOX accessories app doesnt even recognize it...

    Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but that didnt help.

    the elite controller series 2 has Bluetooth compatibility and is therefore compatible with windows 10 too. the first release of the elite controller was before xbox was integrated into windows 10, therefore there was no need at the time for Bluetooth.

    after latest firmware update the wireless xbox controlled is no more correctly recognized on PC if connected using bluetooth

    I have the very same issue with my Xbox Elite Controller Series 2. Very annoying indeed.

    How can the Xbox firmware not be recognized by the PC software? Huge oversight by Microsoft...
