    Elite Series 2 Controller - Broken Bumper


    Hi,

    Does Microsoft have a serious/long-term fix to address the bumper issue with the elite series 2 (ES2) controller?

    This is the second one I've owned that has encountered the issue (issue being: bumper doesn't register pressess consistently, if at all).

    I've seen this topic brought up online, and confirmed with about 5 people that their ES2 has the EXACT same issue. I have to believe the % of failure is similar to the old RROD issue.

    Has Microsoft issued any sort of statement/apology/long-term fix for this?

    This is a very expensive product.

    My product is under warranty - but I don't want this to occur again in one year's time.

    (Also unhappy with the replacement process. During the first break/issue - I went into a Microsoft store and they replaced it on the spot. Now I need to ship it somewhere and wait up to 10 days? Come on Microsoft - think of your customers here. You're a multi billion dollar company - surely you can find a faster way to fix this).

    Hi David,

    I have my warranty options from Microsoft - they are not ideal - but at least I know what they are.

    Would you mind answering the other portion of my question: has Microsoft acknowledged this problem? It is very clear to me after talking with several ES2 owners, Geek Squad, seeing YT videos, etc. that this is a wide spread issue.

    tried to fill out repair order, but, as mentioned above, those are the only options i got.

    Bumper IS a known issue, as you can see.

    Btw., it doenst matter what caused 2 years warranty, it is in place and i'm in the right to use it.

    I bought 2 Elite and both left bumpers broke about 6 months into owning them...Really hope they make a better controller. $300 and now i have 2 broken controllers. What a joke!
