    Elite overheating

I get to play on my elite for 10- 20 minutes at a time till it shutdown says it's protection from overheating. I've only had this system for about a month and waited to buy an Xbox one till the elite came out! It wouldn't even stay on long enough to finish
the factory reset. I wouldn't waste your money on one of these systems!

    :)

    Xbox 360 heating

    Hey there

the RROD isn't necessarily caused by overheating, I still own a old xbox 360 elite model, which has been working without any problems since 2008. No overheating or RROD.

So in my opinion you can not simply state that the 'old' models will get a RROD

Sounds like you have a defective console, return it. Or it doesn't have enough ventilation.

  5. I wouldn't take any chances on it and would return it to the store for either a New in the box replacment console, or my money back.

DO what I do, place four soda bottle caps on each of the four grip feet ( corners of the console ). This provides you with a 1 inch air gap for air to flow easily under your system, works great! Go with Coke caps, there red and look cool with a black unit!

*EDIT* K, I thought 1 inch was too much, its actually exactly HALF an inch but its plenty of space for air to flow under the system.

I feel you pain, but it was not as fast......back when the 360 was out I too waited for an Elite and still got The Ring Of Death.......yeah it seems like Microsoft has since then done a great job and yeah you probably got a bad Console. Also, it does matter
where you buy your console from......some warehouses and trucks handle their merchandise differently.......
