    Hi there,

    The older white 360 consoles, and the black Elite consoles that came out shortly after can use the same drive. The newer, slimmer console versions cannot use the same drives as the older consoles.

    This page will show the consoles and which drive will work.

    Only just sold my 360 Elite and yes, the HDD off an Elite will fit the original fat 360 as they both used the same design, an external HDD that fits on to the end of the console.

    Whereas the S and E models both use an HDD that fits internally, behind the removable grill on the R/H side of the console.

    Also, the later model of HDD (for the S & E consoles) was only available in 250GB and 500GB.

    The 120GB HDD was only available in the original 360 design.

    Surely adding a HDD to the HDD slot provided does nto count as "System modification" ?

    Even when it is a OFFICiAL Microsoft HDD from and Xbox Elite?
