Elite Controller Series 2 paddles quit working.

My Xbox Series X has been dormant since January 2023. recently turned on (9-17-23) and Xbox had to run updates. did that,,. everything worked fine prior to this. Now starting to play my games the paddles on the controller are not working? everything worked before? checked to see if there were any updates for the controller and it needed an update, ran the update and still not working. did the function test on the controller and all worked except the paddles? I don't think there is anything wrong with the controller since it worked fine before I parked the Xbox. I researched this and it seems I have done most things to correct this.. still nothing>

really could use some help! any ideas???

elite series 2 controllers back paddles won’t work

Each Elite controller series 2 comes with 1 set of paddles. You can order replacement paddles, thumbsticks etc.

Series 1 paddles, thumbsticks is not compatible with series 2.

I have an elite series 2 controller. All of the paddles are the same color.

If all of the series X controllers act like the elite series 2 just without the paddles that would be perfect but i’m not sure what the likelihood of that happening would be.
