Elite Controller Series 2 - frequently loses connection for a second or two (Win10/BT)

Hi there - having issues with my Elite Controller Series 2 - I've got it connected via Bluetooth, but every now and then it'll lose connection for a brief second or two, causing the centre light to pulse and the input to carry on with whatever it was last
doing (EG if I was turning left, it will keep turning left until the connection comes back) - the problem doesn't seem to occur with the wired connection, and I've tested with a couple of Bluetooth adapters and it's consistent across all of them, so it's definitely
something with the controller.

Windows 10 is up to date, so no issues there - I've seen reports that other people have had this issue and it's a firmware issue with the controller, but on connecting the controller and loading up Xbox Accessories for Windows, there's no update available.

What are my options here? It's a great controller and I'm really enjoying using it, but it's also a controller I paid a lot of money for, and I don't expect to be having to connect it via wire if I want a trouble-free experience.

I have an elite series 2 as well and i have had that problem intermittently since launch. I think it may be hard defective from the first batch of controller but im not too sure. the only temporary solution i think would be to play with it directly connected.

Hey man, thank you for responding, but I'm kind of hoping for a more permanent solution that having to wire it up. I paid upwards of £150 for an elite product, and it's unable to reliably do something that other controllers were doing two generations ago.
The pad I have is from lot 1945, which I seem to recall there being a few issues with, although most of those were around sticky face buttons (an issue I've not had).

Is there an official line on this please, Microsoft?

Thank you for reaching out to the forum. First make sure you have a controller supporting Bluetooth (Model nr. can be found in the battery compartment).

Not supporting BT: 1537, 1697 and 1698 (Elite Series 1).

Supporting BT: 1708 and Elite Series 2.

Are you able to connect through USB ?

i appreciate your quick response. I have BT turned off, I've tried multiple Type C Usb cables. Soon as its plugged in the controller feedback vibrates. But the Xbox accessories will not recognize its there unless BT is on and Elite 2 is connected via BT. Not sure. I have never had this issue and the Controller works great. I just cant configure?

Best controller for playing is with no doubt the elite series 2. I do not know if there is some orher type of third party controller that can have some better connectivity/personalization. But in general, series 1 and 2 of the elite are top
