Elite Contoller left stick is also activating right trigger

maybe someone remapped the button on your controller where the left thumb stick would activate trigger. Try resettinb the elite controller to default. If that doesn’t solve the issue then you would nees to get the controller replaces (if its in warranty)
or purchase a new controller

I have never heard of this before. Unfortunately I would say that the controller is just malfunctioning and probably needs to be replaced. I believe you could send it in for repair but I believe it's about $90 to $100 to send in.

If some of the buttons of your controller don't work as excepted, please follow the steps below to fix the issue:

Seeing this behavior in ALL games and apps:

Solution 1: Update your controller:

If your controller connects when using a USB cable but doesn't stay connected after removing the cable, reconnect the cable and see if there’s an update available for your controller:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
   
2. Under Profile & system, select Settings.
   
3. Under Devices & connections, select Accessories.
   
4. On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select “…” to check the firmware version for your controller.
   
5. If it says there’s no update available, your controller is current. If it says “Update,” follow the steps provided.
   
6. Once your controller is updated, disconnect the USB cable and try connecting wirelessly again.
   

Solution 2: Check your controller's button mapping settings:

If you’re seeing unexpected controller behavior across all game and apps, it could mean that your controller button configuration has been changed. To check your current controller button settings:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
   
2. Under Profile & system, select Settings.
   
3. Under Devices & connections, select Accessories.
   
4. On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select Configure.
   
5. Carefully review the current mapping for each of the buttons on your controller. You can also select Restore to default to set the controller back to its original button mapping.

If this doesn’t solve the issue, your controller needs to be replaced.

Seeing this behavior in ONE game and app:

If you’re seeing unexpected controller behavior in one game only, check your game settings to make sure that controller configuration or calibration settings aren’t causing the issue.

You should also close and restart the game or app in question.

If this doesn’t solve the issue, your controller needs to be replaced.

These things made it worse. Now my controller is using R trigger constantly!

I restored defaults again and my left stick still triggers right trigger. Despite the configuration saying I'm not.
