Elite 2 controller not holding charge

For the past week my elite 2 controller doesn't seem to hold charge, I use the USB wire provided with the controller and it says its plugged in with a battery symbol with a small lightning symbol. But when I un plug the wire the controller won't turn on. I have tried another USB wire and it says the battery is full, but when I disconnect the wire it still doesn't turn on only turns on when it is plugged in.

Hi, thanks for the reply yes I have tried the guides and not helped. It has been about a month since it happened and I have done nothing different to change anything. Its like the battery is broke but can't get to it without taking the controller apart. I use the battery port in the case or the wire plugged into the controller.

I'm also with you that I don't understand that decision.

I collect consoles, and thanks to removable batteries I can still put in fresh rechargeable AA batteries into my Gamecube Wavebird controller or 13 year old Xbox 360 controllers and they'll work.

I highly doubt that the Elite 2 will hold 40 hours of charge after 10 years of use and charge cycles.

As far as the controller charging.. I don't believe any controller does this except the Elite 2 control. I could be wrong on this.

If you wanted to charge the controller, you would need to use the Play & Charge kit that consists of a rechargeable battery and a usb charging cable.
