eBay Buyer Stole My Games - :(

I doubt anything can be done about this, but I wanted to share some frustrations (none of which are Micrsoft's fault).

A month or so back I purchased a Quantum Break console bundle as a second Xbox One.

I prefer physical discs, but wanted the white console, so I bought the bundle and also bought a physical copy of the game with the intent of selling the downloadable code for Quantum Break on eBay to offset my costs.

Long story short, I sold the game download code to a buyer on eBay who paid promptly, then a few days later I received a message from PayPal that the seller disputed the charge with their credit card issuer. Fast forward a few weeks and lots of proof of
delivery, etc, and I not only lost the $45 I sold the game for, I lost an additional $25 that was charged to me because the credit card issuer charged it to PayPal.

I wasn't sure if I provided the 25 digit code (which I still have) if it could be deactivated on the thief's account? Ideally I would at least be able to get a new code as well, but at this point I would just take solace in the ability to push back and have
the thief lose access to the game they stole from me.

No one besides me. Someone just stole my account to buy fifa players and then sell them on ebay. It is a well known hack. I pissed that microsoft is doing nothing with it.

That's a typical request. People selling consoles on ebay do it all the time. The buyer just wants to make sure you have one that isn't stolen.

 

No. There would be no way to have the code deactivated from their account. All you could do is try going through Paypal/Ebay for any assistance.

 

I had this exactly problem. I sold my FIFA 16 code as I already had FIFA 16 on the store so sold it to someone on Ebay. After around 4 weeks they disputed the charge and then it went to paypal etc and had a case on that. I showed proof of my delivery and
explained that the code had be used and was no way of me getting my product returned to me so I could sell it to someone else.

Anyways, after a total of 3 months or so, I lost a code for FIFA 16, £20 that I could have gotten for the code and then had paypal charge me just under £20 in fee's or something like that. It's fair to say it's the last time I will be selling codes on Ebay.

Sadly, there is nothing Xbox can do and Ebay could do nothing as it was Paypal who disputed our charges and trying to talk to someone on the phone was impossible. What an utter joke.
