    Early Installed Game Pass Games - Not Playabale, re-installable or uninstallable


    Dear Xbox Community,

    It seems that I have some sort of bug within my Xbox App / Microsoft Store with previously installed games.

    I previously had a gamepass subscription which I used to play Sea of Thieves, A Plagues Tale, Battle Toads, Age of Empire III - Definitive Edition, and the Halo Chief master collection.

    Now I tried to install the Full Throttle - Remastered edition, which gave me an error code 0x80073CF9. I tried to solve this with an wsreset.exe, and a regedit change.. but none did fix the issue to install this game. I tried to install another game, Desperados III, which installed with no problems. So I thought it was a problem with the Microsoft store and Full Throttle game.

    Now Since yesterday, I just noticed that most of my early mentioned games, did not show up within my Xbox game App (I wanted to play Sea of Thieves) again. So when clicking Sea of Thieves within the Xbox Game App, I received the option to Install it again (kind of weird, because as far I know, I have never uninstalled it in the first place). When clicking Install, it completes within 1 second, and shows me the following Windows Store notification:

    '@{Microsoft.SeaofThieves_2.96.2180.2_x64_8wekyb3d8bbwe?ms-resource://Microsoft.~' has been installed, try it out.'

    When I click on Start, or try to open the game, it justs gives me a black screen for 3 seconds, and then brings me back to my desktop.

    I have tried to Reset, Remove or Uninstall the game within the System > App settings, but nothing works.
    When I try to install the Halo Master Chief - Collection, I receive multiple errors per versions. Halo 2: Anniversary returns 0x80073CF9, 0x87e00017 .

    I really don't know how to further be specific with the errors I get, and most importantly, why I receive this errors in the first place. When I try to reinstall Battletoads, the downloader just starts without any problems.

    I hope someone can help me out, and if I could give more information (e.g. Logs) they could point me in the right direction to give more information about my issue.

    try and uninstalling and then re installing the game. Maybe that will work, if it doenst, uninstall and then turn off the WIFI to the xbox, Then re install the game.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Unfortunately the suggestion you made didn't wok, but I did try to reboot the machine, which your link eventually led me to. This worked so everything is all good in the world again!

    Hi there,

    regarding the freezing please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

    http://support.xbox.com/en-us/xbox-one/console/power-cycle-console

    To check if that works or not, a lot quicker then reinstalling.

    Regarding the question if you will loose progress, if the console us connected to the Internet (Xbox Live) then your save game will be synchronized with the cloud, which means that on what ever console you login in with your account your save game will be
    available to you.

    So in short, No you shouldn't loose any progress

    You do not need Game Pass Core to play Minecraft on your PC. If the game is not working for you, try uninstalling the game, and then re-install it. That might fix it.
