EA Play games refuse to launch - "You're too early"

I have an Xbox Games Pass Ultimate subscription which now includes EA Play.

I have installed two EA Play games, Titanfall 2 and Battlefront 2 which both refuse to launch with the error message: "You're too early. We know you really want to get started, but you'll have to wait a bit longer. Check Microsoft Store for the launch date".

The games were launched in 2016 and 2017 so it seems there is something very wrong with verification of the launch date check.

I have verified that the date is correct on the Xbox. This is happening on two different Xbox Ones (one Model S and one Model X) both updated to the latest OS. One of them is my "home Xbox" and the other is not.

Both games also show up with a "Coming soon" label overlaid on the tile when I view the list of games installed on the Xbox.

Are you subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate? Only the Ultimate edition allows early access since the game's official release is 9/10/2019. You can still pre-load Gears 5 if you have Xbox Game Pass for console or PC, but you can only play right now if you
bought the Ultimate edition or if you are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Double check your subscription from
