EA Games via Game Pass for 12 year old

Hi,

Looking for some clarity on this.

Child account has Game Pass Ultimate subscription and child is 12 years old. Microsoft Store games install and work fine.

But when trying to launch any of the EA Games, the EA launcher opens, and signs in as the Child OK, but then just shows '404' and says that a code is required from your parent to add games to the library. The library remains empty, despite the game trying to install (stuck at 0%) within he Xbox app itself. After a while, the game install attempt stops, and nothing gets installed.

Have reinstalled the EA Games launcher, several times, from scratch. Cleared all cache/data etc. Internet conneciton is good and everything except EA Games work fine.

Is this a limitation of the Game Pass subscription when trying to access EA Games? Or is something broken?

Hello rob_squeak, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the games.

Although EA is included with the Game Pass they still operate their own child restrictions beyond what Xbox has. What you'll need to do if you'd like to grant access is get in touch with EA Support so they can tell you how to allow it

That's correct. You'll need to get in contact with EA support to allow access for the games.

Hi The 3DPiper, it is because he is aged 12, EA, will not let him use their games until he is 13 years old. EA games also say that to play their games you need an origin account first.

I had the £10.99 game pass and then realised I was spending a lot more paying that for the year. So bought him the 12 months pass and cancelled the old game pass week or 2 before I bought the 12 Months pass.
