EA Desktop auto-created account

Only replying to add clarity/specifics in case someone else has the same problem:

Go to help.ea.com, which will allow you to log in via Xbox Live

From there, the account linking/unlinking articles have links to the account management website, which will maintain your login

There you can unlink the accounts

Make sure you're logged in to the EA desktop app with the correct account

(I relaunched the Xbox app here, not sure if it's required)

Then go to install something from EA on the Xbox app, it'll send you to a log in page, where you can input your actual EA login, and they should be linked correctly

For me, one game got a couple MB into installing and freaked out because it was in Xbox's download queue but not EA's, so I just went into the EA app and started it installing into the same folder and Xbox caught up from there

Other than that, it all seems to be linked/working correctly

I have the same problem, but I managed to notice that I was signed into a weird account, log out and log in to my actual account, now I can't install/play any of the EA stuff, and without knowing the credentials I can't log back in, or unlink the accounts (to re-link to my actual account)

It turns out it wasn't an auto-created account, it was just a really old account that I haven't used in years. I actually found out that you can sign in with your Xbox account, I think directly on ea.com, I don't exactly remember though. There you can unlink your xbox account from the old EA account, and the next time you launch EA Desktop on Xbox, you sign in with your current EA account and it will ask you to link it. Sadly I can't change the account ID or anything because there's an old email on there that I can't access. Just try to look around for a "Sign in with Xbox" thing on an EA page somewhere, then you can unlink it without issues.

if you ever played an ea game in the past then it auto creates a profile for you, if you have since created your own ea account then it won't be linked.

you can sign into ea with your xbox live account and then unlink that other account.

If you had a previous account linking and it doesnt say "EA play with game pass" under settings-> my account -> my membership in EA Desktop app then I suggest

- Clicking Manage from the settings in EA Desktop app to go to the EA customer portal website and under Connections disconnect the xbox account

- Then log out of EA Desktop and exit both apps

- Then install a EA game from xbox app

It will log you into EA Desktop and link accounts giving "EA play with game pass" membership and start downloading from EA Desktop app

Note it says you can only ever link one xbox account to your EA account
