E3 has officially been cancelled, so Xbox will now be holding a Digital Event instead.

Just letting everyone know.

Even though I've never been to e3, I still think this is kind of unfortunate because I've always enjoyed the production that goes into the Xbox Conference. Having an audience there can make certain moments feel so special; for example, when they announced
that the Xbox One would be backwards compatible with some 360 games. At the same time though, I completely understand not wanting to risk spreading more sickness.

I'm curious others feel about this, and also if they feel this will essentially lead to the end of e3 altogether.

I think some promotions would be cool, but Microsoft has already taken a big step by saying that with the cancellation of E3, it will hold an online event.

you are right, no official info has been released about this yet, but usually, the biggest news comes during the E3 event, however, due to Covid-19 this isn't happening, but I believe, but don't hold me to it, it will get more info announced either in July
or August events. I reckon the release date will be as close to launch of the next-gen console.

Skepticality

I personally prefer the new dashboard, I find it smoother and less laggy as for E3 being cancelled I understand why and hopefully the do an online event instead

The next game in the series has been rumoured to be Vikings since Odyssey was released, so it's no news there. But it would be nice to see some footage, probably will see some during Ubisoft's digital showcase they intend to do instead of E3.
