So, I just started having issues with my Xbox One X last night...noticed it started to act sluggish and unresponsive, then when I went to shut it off it took almost 10 minutes to finally complete the process.

When I turned it back on, I received an E105 error and, after some research, decided to perform the Factory Reset as suggested.

Factory Reset failed, then I received an E102 error.

    Factory Reset again...Failed...E101.

    Factory Reset again...Failed...E102.

Went to the Xbox One Startup Error Solution page and tried the Offline Factory reset solution with an NTFS formatted thumb drive.

Update window appeared, started to run, failed...E101 error.

Redownloaded the Factory Reset files to ensure the files were not corrupt.

    Same result....failed...E102 error.

Went back to the Xbox One Startup Error Solution page and downloaded the Offline Update files (OSU1).

Waited 2.5 hours for the download to complete, deleted the Factory reset folder from my thumb drive, extracted the OSU1 Systemupdate folder from the zip and placed that folder on the root of my thumb drive.

    Ran the Offline Update...Failed...E101 error.

    Ran it again...Failed...E102 error.

Most likely going to be a repair since nothing the site suggests is working.

I go to the Microsoft site to research.

Check my serial number and register the console...

Warranty expired on 2/23/2019...48 Days outside of Warranty...absolutely uncanny timing.

I run through the repair request process...

    ...Repair outside of Warranty

...Expedited shipping (because I'm impatient and I'll pay for convenience)

    Code:
    $260...
    $260

    $260?

    $260!!??

Barely outside of Warranty and I suddenly experience a likely Hardware/Partition failure...The console has always been treated with care.

And the manufacturer charges more than half of what a new console would cost (bringing my total expenditure over the life of this single console to over $800)...

    You know what?

Now that I mention it, let me take a quick second to illustrate that I'm not averse to spending money with you:

    • I've been an Xbox Live member for over 13 years.
    • I have 2 additional Xbox One S in my home for my children.
    • I have owned every single console MS has put out since you entered the market.
    • I also went through multiple XB360 consoles due to the RROD issue.

...and this, for some reason, bothers me more than all of my previous experiences up to this moment...or maybe it's just my patience has worn thin with a company that thinks it's reasonable for consumers to absorb such a ridiculous
cost like this to remedy a hardware problem that may have been found/prevented if it weren't for lack of sufficient QA (or desire to recognize revenue sooner than later)...

Honestly, to say I'm disappointed is an understatement...I think you've exhausted my loyalty and willingness/ability to tolerate these types of inconveniences for the sake of a console experience I personally prefer over the other
    offerings.

Just my opinion, though...I'm pretty bummed out and I guess I needed to get this off my chest by screaming into the void.

    :)

You can log on to your account and go to devices and get the process started from there. That is if you registered the console.

Have you tried a hard reset? Probably won't help but worth a try.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Installation stopped - again and again - no disc

Tried that Rebooted into e205, then e101, e102 and E105.

Had to unplug and install from USB. It's safe to say the box is for the bin. It'll never be right again.

Xbox one in system error E102 loop

It started with an E105 error, I didn't write down the rest of the code. But it quickly changed to E102 10010C02 8B060007. And today when I tried the usb method (offline update) the error code changed to E101 00000503 8B060007.
