E100 ERROR: CONSOLE IS NOW A BRICK AFTER MAY UPDATE: CAN'T BE FACTORY RESET

E100 error generally means the console hardware is failing and a repair is required but as a last resort you could try this. You will need the account details for any accounts that use the console as they will be wiped when resetting.

Disconnect wired connection, if using, from the console before Factory resetting and remove everything. I've also turned off my WiFi while Factory resetting to ensure the console doesn't connect to internet while console resets the OS.

After the console resets and returns to the Home screen reconnect the wired connection or WiFi and allow console to connect. There will be an update to download and install if the reset is successful. If unsuccessful the console will need repairing.

Be aware that if you are in a Insiders preview ring, steps 3 & 4 (offline system update) will not work unless you unenroll from Insiders.

I am running GB Fiber over Wireless on my console which is plugged into a very good quality power strip rated at 3200 Joules. The power setting on the console is set to "Instant On". I usually have the issue in the Apply Update portion and it errors
at about 52 - 53% and then throws a E100 error but only once it threw a E200 error. The E100 error makes me resolve the issue with the Factory reset, but I only utilize that option after all other troubleshooting/resolution steps have been performed first.

What is bothersome is that Microsoft is quiet and hasnt responded to my messages about this problem.

This did not solve the problem.
