    DVD not working/games and Blu Ray do


    My Xbox One S previously quit playing DVD’s but still plays Blu Ray and games. This happened after the latest update. I get error code 0x91d70000 and I’ve talked to a representative and tried EVERYTHING. I’m thinking the latest update is the problem.
    I’ve read that so many people are having this problem. I’ve tried multiple DVD’s and tried on another Xbox and they worked. It’s out of warranty so I don’t have money to send it in.

    Hi,

    Can you check if your console can read DVD discs please? To do this just insert a DVD movie disc. If it works, the console will load the Blu-ray Player app (make sure this this downloaded from the Xbox Store).

    Note that the disc you try must be a DVD not an Xbox One or a Blu-ray movie disc.

    If your console won't start the DVD movie disc then this indicates a fault with your Xbox One Blu-ray drive. These drives contain two lasers, one for DVD's and one for Blu-ray discs. Xbox One disc games are on Blu-ray, Xbox 360 games are DVD's.

    Disc based games are region free so any will work but dvd/blu ray is region locked so only dvd/blu ray from the U.S. region will work.

    dvd disks will not play.

    same here, games and blu-rays work fine. blu-ray app is installed. DVD disc will not play I get an error message. I just bought a brand new DVD and still will not work.

    System sound and game sound work normally, Blu-ray/DVDs don't work on either sound or just tv. I also tested it on my other 4k tv an no sound for Blu-ray/DVDs.

    Xbox 1 games won’t work on my Series X

    The drive contains separate lasers for the DVD and Blu-ray disc reading. Xbox one titles are on Blu-ray, while the others are on DVD. Please try a Blu-ray movie in the drive and see if it works
