Does anyone still play this classic? I've got a fondness for co-op mode on it, don't mind Dukematch-ing it either hands up who still plays this timeless classic

Oh Yea. Definitely a classic.

 

The reviews were so terrible and a friend of mine bashed it so much that there's no way I would buy it for more than one dollar.

I did play the original though and I thought it was pretty good. Seemed like a rip off of Doom at the time though. Doom plus ***.

 

Loved it on the Saturn but not touched it since.

I've played it a few times in the past year. Its a great game. Not a touch on Doom but a very good experience all the same. Duke Nukem Forever should of been more than what it was, and it wasn't. Such a let down. Doom 4 will wash away that bad memory.

 

I wouldn't touch any games that 3d Realms were involved with, they can't make a decent net code and ALWAYS blame fans when things don't work properly, it's a shame really because they ruined the Prey multiplayer which had the potential to be up there with
Quake and Unreal.

 

I've tried messaging 3D Realms in the past. I cant remember what for, and I am going back years and years but as far as what you say there WILK0, they sure don't respond to fans as much as other devs do. Or at least they didn't when I tried making contact
(via social media).

 

You are lucky the didn't respond, no matter what the problem is they always blame the users connection or equipment, it's a shame really because Prey was a great single player game and the multiplayer could have been as big as Quake or Unreal.

 

Well if you're comparing it to Quake and Unreal then it must of been some pretty impressive stuff. I remember seeing a trailer for Prey when I went to the movies one time (If I am thinking of the correct game) and I have to say it did look sweet. I'm going
to go out on a limb and say that 3D Realms aint your fave of devs?

 

If it had better a better net code it could have been comparible with Quake and Unreal, 3d Realms is in a long list of developers/publishers that I don't like, that list includes EA, Ubisoft, 2K and Microsoft I don't like companies that shaft gamers to line
their own pockets by including online passes, disk locked content, micro transactions or glitchy/buggy games.

I think that it is important for gamers to take a stand against companies that treat us like cash cows, this often means missing out on products, but the pain is worth the gain...

Man I hate that! Seriously if there is one gripe I have with games its locked disc content. I can just about live with the rest (just about) but not that. It sucks.

My opinion. When you buy a game you should be buying the game and all its content. I would love to see it go back to that but due to how much it makes, I doubt it will ever happen :/

 

Online Passes were the worst for me (even though I only buy new games), then it's disk locked content and all the other things after that, gaming going mainstream has been good, but the negatives are starting to outweigh the positives, hopefully gamers will
claim gaming back in the near future...

 

I would hope so. I've said this a ton of times but if ESO had gone free to play they would of set a bar for other companies to challenge. As it stands, I am doubtful that will happen and it annoys me the paywall is there because after not trying the other
elder scroll games, I really looked forward to playing this one. I just aint willing to open my wallet past the cost of the game itself lol.
