Due to char. limit unable to change gamertag to previous gamertag.

When i realized that there was a free gamertag change on xbox i jumped at the chance to change my main account name and then create a new account with my now streaming gamertag. what i didn't realize was that my gamertag including spaces was 14 characters
long and I couldn't do that. I'm not famous or rich but I worked hard being known in my small community as and as a CC for World of Tanks. I am not asking for something crazy I just want my old gamertag back. Customer service said they have
no ability to change that on their end. There has to be someone in Microsoft or Xbox that can fix this for me, it would mean so much. <3

If anyone has any idea who I can contact other than Microsoft Customer Service (because I tried already) that would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind paying the gamertag change fee.

if anyone actually read my original question, and they know a different venue i can try please respond and i will appreciate it. if one more person says you can't then obviously they didn't understand the basic premise of my post and are just answering
questions so they can feel helpful when they aren't. if you don't have an alternative please don't respond. Thank you for your time.

obviously they got the gamertag before the change. i did say that. it's almost like you read what i wrote.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are seeking a way to change your Gamertag to something that exceeds the current limitations.

The Gamertag system that was originally in placed has changed, you can read more on this in the

Gamertag update FAQ.

The individuals whom you are seeing with longer Gamertag, is likely due to them keeping a tag from before this update came through. However at this point, any Gamertag that you try to change to or create must follow this system.

At this time, there is currently no one that can assist you with changing this.

I hope this was able to clear up any confusion this might have caused.

There is nothing you can do. You will have to use a tag that falls withing the limitations.

How can that be true, if other gamers with gamertags that exceed the character amount are still allowed to keep their then the system must allow for it? I'm not asking for a new gamertag, just my old one.
