    Downloads and updates not working when the Xbox is turned off


    Have been using the instant-on feature since the original Xbox One. I have 4 Xbox consoles in total and two of those (Series X and One X) are in the preview programme. These two consoles aren’t updating or downloading anything when the Xbox is turned off, even with the instant on feature turned on.

    This error occurs when updates are paused and the xbox is turned off, a solution would be to disable the background download and turn off your consoles instant start, and then install the what you wanted to install without your console turning off.

    When your console updates a game and you turn off your Xbox, it goes into background download mode where it will download the update while the Xbox is off. Once the download is finished it will be available to all accounts.

    Power Mode Instant On

    Automatically download updates and purchases turned on

    when Xbox is off, turn off storage is on

    on start go to tv and wake up xbox by saying xbox on are both off.

    yes that's what I'm trying to tell you, instant on mode does not work. When I put it in instant on mode and I uncheck if Xbox is off turn off storage. That way when I turn the Xbox off I don't want the external storage to turn off but it seems to do that
    anyways. When I turn off the Xbox to download the DLCs or updates whatever, the power light on the power supply is white, the network is still trying to download the files because I could still see the network switcher blinking but the external hard drive
    is not powered on. So yes I know all about the instant on and the energy mode.
