Downloading Games

Hello,

I have just purchased my first console and have received codes for games which needs to be downloaded.Here I need help with the following queries:

1. Can i download the games using a PC and then transfer to my XBOX ONE Console?

2. Once downloaded, would i be able to backup the download?

3. Once downloaded, wuld i be allowed to download again?

Sorry to hear it. Please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down to see if that helps.

Downloading game updates and downloading games

When attempting to download a game... or a update for a game.... the install goes "queue" like every 5 minutes, it makes the download go by very slowly. there is nothing else in my queue and the game still goes into "queue" all the time making it take hours
to download a simple update. very annoying. any ideas how to prevent this?

1. No. You can only download the games via the console. You can redeem the codes via the PC, but that will queue the games to download to your console.

2. & 3. Anything you purchase is tied to your account so you can redownload it for free at any time. There is no legit way to backup the download by say saving it to a disc to keep elsewhere.

actually you can use a USB storage device to download games, and then you can remove the storage device, which would sort of be a way to "backup" the games. once you remove the USB device you should be able to download the games again to your internal hard
drive. i'm not 100% sure it works like this, but i believe so. however, there is really no need to do this because, as mentioned above, you can always redownload the games again to any console using your microsoft account connected to xbox live.

the only reason to backup games to another storage device would be if they announced xbox live servers for xbox one were closing down, or you don't plan to have access to an internet connection anymore, and you didn't have enough room to store all your games
on the internal drive.

Hi there, the only thing I can think of is did you ever go through your hard drive to see if there was a partial download of the game, possibly with a yellow triangle signalling that it's corrupted?

Sometimes these corrupted partial downloads can stop it from being re-download successfully the second time. See the link for more information on deleting games from your hard drive:

Thanks for the response, but they are not showing up in my Ready to Install. They are also not in my account. Might be because they are old (they are for my original Xbox One, which was about 3 years old....)
