downloading games is painfully slow

I have Xfinity internet with 50mbps down and 12mbps up yet it has taken 12 hours to download 80% of Darksiders II which is only a 7.5gb game... is anyone else experiencing this kind of slowness?

Hi all,

I'm downloading the game on a painfully slow internet connection. Any idea what % installed this game is playable at (campaign only)?

Strange thing, I sugest you to try download in another place just to be sure it's a content issue, not related to your ISP

Assuming you have an us Xbox account not a UK or. Canadian etc

hard reset your modem and router for 5mmins by unplugging it for that long then plug it back in

Also make sure you have the nessary ports open

i have tried stopping it. cancelling it. restarting it. cleared the cache and same thing. 8% wtf???

@sevenoz does your account region match your actual region and did you queue it while out of region?

So I got an update for Call of Duty and it was likely the one everyone got days ago, but I just so happened to start my update today. Downloading the update took maybe 5-10 minutes as my download speed is great, but after attempting to install what it claimed
to be a 700mb update, it got to 98% and just stuck there. I was impatient and canceled the installation at some point. I attempt to install again, but this time it tells me it's a 1128mb update and it gets stuck at 0%. I thought something was wrong, but after
messing around with it for a bit I decided to just leave it. After about 5 hours, it finally reaches about halfway to the point where I could play the game that I intended to play 5 hours ago. I didn't feel like playing it at that point, but I kept an eye
on the installation. It took a solid 7+ hours to install whatever update that was from start to finish. As someone who PC games a lot, it should NEVER take that long to install.

Are people having slow digital download issues? I am seeing fixes for downloading with disc, but what about all digital. I am having slow downloads with no disc. Not sure what do do

ok let me tell you what worked for me. It was going really slow for me so I disconnected internrt and did a power off. When I turned it back on it sayd Bf4 "qeueu'd" then wouldn't do anyting or would say "installation stopped" Becuase there was no internet.
Now if you highlight the game and click the menu button...where the start button used to be you can click cancel installation. Then with the internet off you can install from the disc....which doesn't talke that long. I was able to play the compaign within
minutes of it installing. After it fully installed the disc..I reconnected the internet and now i'm installing the 1.1gig update for bf4.

It takes long because it is also downloading day one updates for each game you are installing at the same time. DO NOT disconnect from the internet while installing though, as some users have already complained it causes them to have to restore to factory
settings when they do that. Some say it works for them just fine when they do it, so it is obviously a risk.
