Downloaded game asking for disk /sign in

exact error message reads

"Do you own this game or app?

If you have a game disk, insert it now. If you purchased this online, make sure you are signed into Xbox and if you do not have th rights to play it you will need to get it at the Xbox store. (0x803f8001)"

-downloaded game

-we have the rights to play

-we are signed in to Xbox

I can't play downloaded games anymore

After I renewed my gold, I can't play my downloaded games. I keep getting the message asking if I have the game on a disk.

Not seen this answered anywhere yet - but thought I would ask, I will remove the thread when answered if needbe

I have a disk copy of DR3 and a disk rented for COD. However they have huge downloads - which to be honest I don't want to do, as I just want a quick blast on the game.

in the case of COD I believe it is a 6gb download??? what the heck can 6gb difference be between that and retail?

Should be fine to go offline.

Cod download is 1.2Gb.

You need to download the patch for every disk game

Basically you put the disk in and it will ask you to download the patch

The only way to play games without a disk is to purchase them from the marketplace, keep in mind these will be full games and take lot of space and may take a long time downloading depending on your internet download speed. If you already have a disk you
can install the disk on your hardrive to minimize sound and increase loading speeds in games. You will however be asked to insert the game disk whenever you play the game.

i am signed in to xbox live with a wokejng internet connection.

Copying the game disk and adding it to a blank disk is not only illegal but it's also against the

ToS.

If you insert the game disk into the console it will ask you to download the game, but you will still need the disk to play the game.

The only way you can "share" games is by setting a console as your home, but this can only be done with digital games.
