Down load updates or games on a thumb drive? Is it possible?

I have super slow internet and want to know if I can download updates on a thumbdrive and bring it home. namely halo master cheif?

As long as the drive you use is a minimum of 256gig and is 3.0 they make thumb drives all the way up to 2tb I believe and the speed is a 3.1 on that.

External storage
If you have a USB 3.0 external storage with a capacity of 256 GB or greater, you can use it to hold Xbox One games and apps. Alternatively, you can use the drive to store and play music, videos, and pictures on Xbox One using the Media Player app.

Note Make sure your drive is using a USB 3.0-compliant cable that’s in good condition. The cable, believe it or not, can affect the performance of your drive or your Xbox.

If you have a USB drive that doesn’t meet these requirements for speed and size, you can still use it to play media.

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. You would not be able to use a thumb drive. You could however, use an

external HD. Basically you will use it the same as a thumb drive.

The only way to download them is on the console itself. There is no way to download them from anywhere else to transfer to the console.
