Double clicking in microsoft solitaire collection

I have played microsoft solitaire collection for years and never had a problem. I have had this labtop and mouse for years and never had a problem. Now all of a sudden microsoft solitaire collection thinks I am double clicking when I am not. Some times it thinks I click even if I just move the cursor over the deck. It does this with the mouse hooked up via usb and the touchpad built into the labtop. It does this in TriPeaks, Pyramid but in Spider if I click and try to move it manually it drops it early at times, both of those problems exist in FreeCell but not as frequently, these problems do not seem to exist in the Klondike games there is some rare double click but it is a rare occurrence where as in TriPeaks and Pyramid games it is almost consistent. I do not have a problem with the mouse in any other program, this problem recently started in the microsoft solitaire collection. The operating system is windows 10.

Update: the double clicking problem has gotten better in Pyramid solitaire where it was the worst but has gotten a lot worse in Klondike solitaire where it was not a problem before and the dropping in FreeCell Solitaire where as I am moving the cards it drops them as if I let go of the mouse is the same. It is strange how this problem only seems to exist in the Microsoft solitaire collection. My concern is that I am starting class for me second degree in August and a lot of the course work is online to mirror the national licensing exam which is online. I don't want the mouse not working when I am doing class work. That is why I am trying to find out where the problem lies and how to fix it. It is odd that it only seems to exist in the microsoft solitaire collection but I can only comment on what I see.

Like most problems I have with Windows this only started after installing updates. So no there are no updates available. I refuse to use the free "update" to Windows 11 because I feel it will be filled with problems. Although it auto-updated on me somehow and it seemed less of an update and more of a cosmetic rearranging, because after having certain buttons in the same place for 30 or more years someone thought it was a good idea to move it. Computer programmers seem to be their own worse enemy, maybe it is for job security that updates create problems that require additional updates to solve.

I will say I played with the mouse settings, specifically the double click speed. I adjusted the double click speed from the slow end to the fast end and back to the middle and it had no effect. I uninstalled and reinstalled the mouse and it still double clicks on a single click but it is not as common. It used to be nearly every click it counted as a double click it is no maybe one in five.

Reset Microsoft Solitaire Collection App

In the left pane, click on “Apps & features”.
Now in the right side, scroll the page down and look for “Microsoft Solitaire Collection” Click “Advanced Options”.
Click the Reset button and then you will be prompted the Reset button again.
