I think the step 4 offered (reset network) might a bit overkill, I'd try up to that step and if the problem persists after clearing the MAC address then I'd try resetting the network, only if that doesn't work would I redo all the steps including step 4...

You can see if there’s any firmware update for the controller.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories, and then select the controller you want to update.

2. On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select “…” to check the firmware version for your controller.

3. If it says “Update,” select Firmware version, and then follow the steps provided.

Try these and see:

1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

2. Go to Settings > Network > Network settings. Select "Advanced settings."

3. Select "Alternate MAC address" and choose "Clear."

4. Go back to the Network settings menu and select "Network reset."

Follow the prompts to reset your network settings.

After the reset, your Xbox One will restart, and you'll need to set up your network connection again.

Are you online? I noticed that it could be lag when I had the problem (it used to come and go) but didn't really work out if it was or not.

Something you could try is clearing the MAC address, this sometimes worked for me, but it's been over a year since being on XBox to remember how to do it, beyond going into the Network settings....

But I do remember that if you do it your console will be restarted, just a heads up 😊
