Double checking what counts

hi, i bought a brand new xbox one s console bundle last week does that having anything to do with this rewards thing. Also i am $25 from the next tier so if i bought like Halo Master Chief Collection for $29.99 does that count as i am going over the missions
area and i don't get it as all those missions have nothing to do with anything i would be interested buying for games so i am just trying to clarify is only things on the missions count or will the xbox console i bought count or if i bought the halo game i
just mentioned through digital download will that count as if only the mission stuff counts i kinda think by years end i won't get the $25 i need to spend to reach the next tier as isn't on the 1st of each year you reset back the current tier's progress?

The Book Bug- Please explain?

beware of the hidden books, they double the book counts 2 times, i had bought like 12 books from the book shops and i kept count of it and checking it tho game menu it counted right , then i went to pick up a hidden book and it went 14 books.

There are currently no offers to receive credits for hardware, so the console bundle would not count towards rewards.

Subscriptions, in-game conumables, and preorders do not count towards VIP. So Halo MCC would count.

In order to receive credits, your purchases either have to be eligible for a specific offer on the site at the time, or you need at least 1 star level in order to receive VIP rebates. So any purchases that don't count towards other offers on the site would
still award credits if you are eligible for VIP rebates.

You can earn Xbox Live Rewards Credit in two ways:

1. By finishing the offers located on the MyMissions page at
https://rewards.xbox.com/mymissions/ .

2. For non-offer purchases, you can earn Credits by earning a one star MyVIP level through purchasing at least $300 USD or regional equivalent of eligible content. After you receive your first star you will begin to earn a percentage of your eligible purchases
off the Xbox Store back as MyVIP payback Rewards Credit. Pre-orders, in-game consumables, and subscriptions are not eligible for MyVIP.

Since there are no offers for hardware, those purchases do not earn Credit. A purchase of Halo Master Chief Collection is not a part of any offer, and is a eligible purchase for MyVIP, so it would be awarded as MyVIP payback. As
you reference, at the end of the year, we place you in your MyVIP rank for the new year based off your eligible spending from the previous year, and set your progress to the default state. This happened in September 2015 and December 2016.
