  1. Don’t want game audio in headset! Help!

I haven’t used my Xbox one in a while. Ever since I jumped back on and updated it, it seems that everything has changed so much. I used to be fairly competent at figuring this stuff out on my own. So, I’m turning to the forums for the first time ever. I’m
trying to make it so that my chat headset does NOT play game sound. I want game sound to come through my tv speakers and chat audio to be the only audio in my headset. I can’t seem to find an option to disable in game sound through my headset. Any help would
be appreciated. I’m using a Tritan headset with a standard 3.5mm jack that connects directly into my controller. Never had issues before. But now I just can’t find the option. Thanks in advance!

    :)

Chat mixer not showing up with Astro a50

the party chat on my a50 is extremely loud even with game volume turned all the way up on the headset. Also hear an echo if I try to adjust towards voice audio on the headset. The worst part is under the chat mixer there are no slider bars to adjust the
sound further. I don’t know if this has something to do with it being a wireless headset or something with my xbox. Please help.

Can't get game audio on my headset

I've purchased a turtle Beach X11 Headset to use on my XBOX 360 and want to use it for Game audio and mic audio.

I currently connect my console to the tv via HDMI and plug it in as described in the headset instructions.

I can hear the Mic audio but can't seem to get the in game audio to play through the headset as it still plays through the TV.

    I've plugged in the following

    1. HDMI cable from console to TV

    2. Plugged in Headset USB to console plugged green audio cable from headset to Red and White Audio lead

    3. Plugged in red and white Audio to component audio output (Only red and White audio on TV).

The only other option I can see is to use the green audio cable in the TV headphone socket.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    FADED/MUFFLED HEADSET AUDIO

If you hadn’t mentioned the part about the two consoles having the same audio settings, but the two sound different, I would’ve said that maybe it’s the headset audio format. On a certain console update, the audio format was changed. It sounded really
strange, but I couldn’t figure out what it was, so I messed around with stuff, before eventually changing the headset format to “stereo uncompressed”. That fixed it. It sounded exactly like it did before the update changed it. So, I don’t know, maybe mess
with the headset audio format in the volume and audio output settings, see if that helps at all.

When I plug in my headset in my controller my tv gets a lot louder.

Hi, Dakota my name is Jhon and will be a pleasure help you.

When you plug in your headset into your controller, the audio is directed to both the TV and the headset 1. If you want to hear the audio only through your headset, you can adjust the audio settings on your Xbox One console. Here’s how you can do it:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Volume & audio output.

    Under Headset audio, select Headset.

Under Speaker audio, select Do nothing.

This will ensure that the audio is only directed to your headset and not the TV.

If you want to hear the audio through both the TV and the headset, you can adjust the volume of your TV to your desired level

I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or need additional clarification.

Microsoft/Turtle Beach controversial headsets plus adaptors

Update: Gaming audio will come via the Headset Audio Adaptor source
    www.turtlebeach.com/.../494
making Dolby Digital optical headsets redundant. If you want game/chat audio mix for the Xbox One you have to buy a headset bundled with a audio adaptor or wait until the adaptor is released by Microsoft.

Audio on both Headset and TV Speakers

    Hello Viking!

I can tell you from personal experience using everything from the xbox issued headsets to my current Astro's, the tv will never mute when you plug in your headphones to the controller.

Here is guide for headphone setup:

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/connect-compatible-headset

    and other options here: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/stereo-headset-set-up-troubleshoot

    Notes

    • You might also have game audio coming from your TV. If you don’t want to hear the TV, simply turn down the volume on your TV. (When you plug a headset into the adapter on your controller, sound from the TV is not automatically muted or adjusted.)
    • When you plug a compatible headset into your Xbox One Wireless controller, chat audio through Kinect is automatically muted.
I also hear audio through my TV

The Stereo Headset Adapter doesn’t know if you’re using your headset just for chat or for all audio, so TV audio is not automatically muted when you’re using the adapter. You must manually adjust your
    TV audio volume.

    Hope this helps!

I did mess around with the different audio formats. Stereo uncompressed does sound slightly better but I can still tell the audio is distorted. I’ll keep messing with the settings though to see if something clicks
