    I have gold signature!

    xbox ask for a credit card before downloading a free game from gold, supposed to be free.

    Can anyone help me please?

    Why do I need to enter payment information for download a game with my gold account?

    I have 12 months of gold and they ask me for card to download Monkey Island 2 to my xbox one.

    Other games do not ask me a credit card number but Monkey Island 2 yes

    Hi,

    It willn't charge you, add an credit/debt card to download the game. try purchasing the game at xbox.com I believe you don't need a credit card added to download the game.

    ^^ I think it's the opposite. If you try to "buy" it from the website, it requires a payment option to do so... if you try to "buy" it from your Xbox, it shouldn't ask you for a payment option.

    Also... you could add a CC, download the game, and then remove payment option.

    Hello Miqueles,

    If this is an Xbox 360 game and you are downloading from
    http://marketplace.xbox.com    , you will need either a debit/credit card or PayPal account on file in order to process the transaction. However, if you use an Xbox 360 you should not be asked for these details.

    For Xbox One games from Xbox One Games | Xbox, you should not be asked for credit/debit card either.

    thanks for all support and help, the game is for Xbox one (Thief).

    I know, I can add a visa card, but I dont enjoy adding my visa card in xbox and I shouldnt be forced to do it to download a free game.

    I'm also having problems claiming Thief. Every other December Games With Gold game have worked fine, but with Thief, i keep getting asked for a credit card and i don't have one. I've tried claiming on the website and i've tried claiming on my Xbox One,
    both ask me for one.

    One workaround for my "kid" accounts with Live Gold... add a Visa "gift card" that has already been used up. The process seems to check if the Visa numbers and expiration are valid, but did not give an error when trying to charge $0 against it.
