    Dolby Vision support for movie playback


    Is this being worked on? With this being available for streaming and now gaming, it seems odd that media playback through the Blu-Ray drive isn't supported.

    I'd rather not have to buy another Blu-ray player

    The system supports Dolby Vision in certain streaming apps like Netflix, Disney +, and Vudu, but it's not yet supporting playback of 4k discs with Dolby Vision through the blu-ray app. Hopefully they will eventually patch an update to do so. But currently,

    Hi I have a Xbox series x with a Dolby vision compatible tv also will the allow Dolby vision playback selected in settings on and it still only displays in HDR only when playing 4k blu rays ? I have set it 4k 60hz and the games display in Dolby vision plus streaming apps but not 4k disc playback! Is this correct that the xbox series can’t do this ?

    Without knowing the BluRays your trying to watch there isnt much we can do.

    I do know that not all UHD BluRays support Dolby Vision, they all support HDR10 (as its a free to use license) but Dolby Vision costs the movie studios to use. it.

    Perhaps look at the back of the UHD box and see if it mentions Dolby Vision, if not its probably only using HDR10.
