Dolby Vision Support for 4K Blurays

I've seen other people asking about this and I just want to throw my hat into the ring, I would really like to see DV support for 4K discs on Xbox one S and upward.

The bluray player in the xboxone s & x is great but the lack of DV support doesn't make sense, especially with it being supported via streaming apps and games moving forward , (on the series X I know).

This is an update that I know a lot of people would benefit from and appreciate, besides the benefits of physical media still far outweigh streaming and will for a while!

Come on Microsoft - lets have the update please - when might it be?

I do know about the gaming part. I was asking the question if the Xbox Series X could have the Dolby Vision added into the BluRay app so, that 4K BluRay movies can enjoy Dolby Vision as well.

This seems to confirm that the bluray app does NOT support dolbyvision

Without knowing the BluRays your trying to watch there isnt much we can do.

I do know that not all UHD BluRays support Dolby Vision, they all support HDR10 (as its a free to use license) but Dolby Vision costs the movie studios to use. it.

Perhaps look at the back of the UHD box and see if it mentions Dolby Vision, if not its probably only using HDR10.

Yes, please bring Dolby Vision support to the Xbox 4k Blu-ray player! I have a vast collection of 4k Blu-Rays and a tv that supports Dolby Vision (LG C9).
