Dolby Vision caused green screen in apps Apple TV and Netflix

I finally figured out a problem that started a few days ago for me. The Apple TV app turned all green. Then a few days later, the Netflix app turned green too. If I disable Dolby Vision in the Xbox video settings, then both apps are back to normal. I'm guessing my TV doesn't support Dolby Vision and both apps had recent updates to default to Dolby Vision.

Dolby Vision on Xbox One X

    Hi.

When you start Netflix, does it start up in HDR or Dolby Vision as it seems the app itself launches in that mode. Not all content is Dolby Vision compatible in Netflix.

Your TV is on the list of supported models, and I assume you are in the Insider program for testing this feature?

Also, check for any updates to the Netflix app.

Dolby Vision - Blu-ray player app

Of course the Blu-Ray disks I'm using are UHD and have Dolby Vision.

Dolby Vision is enabled on Xbox One X settings, TV HDMI ports are in Enhanced mode (4:4:4 4K/UHD HDR 60Hz), and the TV test (that can be found inside Xbox menu) returns all green ticks for my Xbox-to-TV connection.

As said, Dolby Vision works with all streaming apps... but not when playing Blu-Ray UHD Dolby Vision disks.

Dolby Atmos not working Xbox one X

I am also having difficulty getting Dolby ATOMS to work properly. The Xbox One X does pick up ATMOS from 4k UHD discs that support it, but apps like Netflix fail to properly stream ATMOS. It seems like it is likely a combo NETFLIX and XBOX problem and
the engineers need to fix it. I tried deleting the ATMOS app and reinstalling it. Turning my sound settings off and turning them back in to no avail. I just purchased a DENON x3600 receiver for ATMOS and am very frustrated. What makes the situation for
me easier, is my APPLE TV 4K works with my receiver correctly. It seems to pull ATMOS from streaming VUDU, NETFLIX, DISNEY+ correctly.

On another note, I've noticed DOLBY VISION seems to always be on for NETFLIX despite some content not being DOLBY VISION. My Apple TV 4K only pulls dolby vision for content that has it. Yet another problem with the Xbox One X. I love my Xbox, but don't
understand why it can stream media correctly for audio or dolby vision. If anyone has a fix, I would greatly appreciate it! It looks like people have being having difficulties with all this for some time. I'm not even sure how to approach this. I could
try contacting DENON, but it really does seem like an XBOX vs application problem.

    Dolby Vision in the future?

Dolby Vision is a software upgrade only according to Dolby. Example https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarcher/2017/02/24/how-the-ps4-xbox-one-and-even-the-apple-tv-could-soon-get-dolby-vision/#2c7ac6e46647

    Xbox One X HDR error

I have never had to enable HDR or Dolby Vision on my tv. When I play Netflix HDR or DOLBY VISION titles, a logo automatically pops up in the screen telling me HDR or DOLBY VISION, to inform me its enabled. Also my Apple tv 4K allows me to view content
in both HDR formats as well by switching to one or the other in settings. I appreciate the tip but that’s not it. Did the scan you suggested & says color depth 12 bits or standard (recommended). So I chose 12 bits & left the color space at standard since
I’m not using a pc monitor. The Xbox again tells me your tv doesn’t support HDR10 video for gaming...yet it does.
