Dolby atoms not working when my Xbox updates its firmware

Whenever my Xbox does a automatic update overnight, i have realised that it turns off Dolby atmos in my audio settings and when i try to switch to Dolby atmos it says i need to install the app when i have it installed. I then have to reinstall the app to make it work which is a long and annoying process as i am in the alpha ring and i get console updates almost every fortnight

Dolby Atmos not working Onkyo RZ840

...I have previously had the same xbox working with Dolby Atmos and a different Onkyo receiver a few months ago....
This seems to suggest that the issue is with the RZ840 then, as it worked with a different receiver.

Or did you change something else in your setup along with the other receiver? Did you also change the TV or move up from 1080p to 4K along with the receiver, so Atmos worked in the 1080p environment but not 4K?

Have you tried contacting the Onkyo support as well about that issue?

That was my first thought aswell, however after a bit of investigation it seems there's been a recent update to Dolby Atmos spec to take it to version 1.6.

As my receiver is newly released its comes with an updated firmware including Atmos v1.6.

Apparently the Atmos app on the Xbox only supoorts v1.5, so Dolby will need to release an update for v1.6 before things will work again.

Dolby Atmos keeps turning off and resetting on Xbox One X

Thanks Brad. I think you will find that this is happening with multiple branded sound bars. I've searched the web and I've read about Samsung, Panasonic and LG for example. All people say is it was working fine for months and when the Dolby Atmos app was
updated it broke the setup. I have a Samsung soundbar and spoke to their support before Xmas. There was no firmware or anything they updated which did anything as this has broken between their firmware updates. They looked at it and said looks like an Xbox
issue \ Dolby Atmos (app) problem.

When the issue occurs, I log into the Dolby Atmos app and it is as though it has lost its memory of settings. You log in and it is as if you have just downloaded the app for the first time and is asking you to go through setup again.

I use the Dolby Atmos sound bar with the PS4 connected via HDMI the same as the Xbox and never have any issues.

    Thanks for your response.

In fact this has been happening to me for over a month and I do not have a sound bar... just a full Atmos system through an A/V receiver. This has something to do with the app and it's interaction with the Xbox settings. Please fix.

My recently purchased games on XBox App on Windows 10 will not play my games,

It's not Atomic Heart specifically. It's that the XBox app is where I purchased Atomic Heart through, and because my XBox app on PC will not log me into XBox live when I launch Atomic Heart, for some reason, it also doesn't allow Atomic Heart to launch. Looking around, I'm far from the only person this seems to be happening to. And it's affecting more than Atomic Heart now. Any game I need to log into XBox live for, will not work when I launch it now. Including games like Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, which I had working just a month ago. Before anyone asks, yes, my Live subscription is up to date and active. Thus far, no remedy I've found has worked.

Dolby Atmos app keeps turning off and resetting on Xbox One X (cont. from an unresolved & closed thread)

I have the same issue with a Logitech G432 and a Plantronics Rig 400 headset on my Xbox One S. The problems started around a week ago after my Xbox had a firmware update (10.0.19041.1927). Factory resetting the console and uninstall and reinstall the Dolby
Access App have been no solution.

So when I boot my console the audio setting is set to "Windows Sonic". If I want to use Dolby Atmos for headphones I must start the Dolby Access App everytime after booting which is super annoying.
