    Set up is LG 65" TV, Xbox One S, Nakamichi 7.2. Xbox is HDMI to Soundbar.

    I was able to get Dolby Atmos working fine on my Xbox One S (Apocalypse Now Blu-Ray, Dolby Access App, Mad Max Fury Road on Vudu App) last week.

    Since the middle of last week I’ve not been able to get any of the apps to play Dolby Atmos even though Nakamichi says it’s receiving Atmos. Even trying non-Atmos content and Dolby Surround/Upmix, SSE, etc
    has no effect if Xbox is set to output Atmos. Nothing from rears.

    Switching output to Dolby Digital or DTS on Xbox allows upmix/surround. Tried reset, hard reset, messing with setting on soundbar, etc. No dice with Atmos from any app.

    Coincidentally, Access app was updated last week (?)

    Just tried Apocalypse Now Blu-Ray and Nakamichi demo disc with Xbox set to Atmos output and both sounded great with Atmos. Rears outputting sound as they should.

    Not sure if it means anything but every time I switch from Atmos to Dolby or DTS in Xbox settings, it prompts me to set up Access again.

    tl;dr Atmos working through Xbox Blu-ray player but not apps.

    BUG: With Dolby Atmos activated, all apps used Fallback to PCM 2.0

    I can confirm this bug with the Dolby Atmos app.

    My setup: Denon X4200W receiver with Xbox One S.

    Atmos works fine in the Dolby Atmos app, Blu-Ray and Netflix (the movie Okja is the only Atmos movie on Netflix). All other Netflix videos and Xbox apps default back to 2.0 down mix as posted above.

    Do you have a Dolby Atmos compatible receiver, sound bar, or speaker system? If you do, have you changed the settings within 'Disc & Blu-ray settings' on your Xbox One to enable 'Let my receiver decode audio'? Currently Dolby Atmos is only supported within
    the Blu-ray app for Dolby Atmos compatible Blu-Ray movies.

    Atmos had been working fine, then the other I day I was halfway through a UHD movie and noticed my receiver said TrueHD instead of Amos. Afterwards, I tried turning the pass through setting off and on with no luck. Then I tried the Vudu and the Dolby app
    and both output in Atmos. Moved over to my PS4 and loaded up MI:5 blu-ray and the receiver played the Atmos perfectly. Took the same disc over to the Xbox and again I got TrueHD. I went so far as to delete and reinstall the blu-ray app with no luck. It's not
    the receiver or the cable or the disc, so it has to be the blu-ray app, right? I really hope they fix this issue pronto. I got the Xbox One S specifically for UHD/Atmos.

    download the insider preview hub app. Once your xbox one is added to the preview program, you can update it. Its in beta but the bitstreamING pass-through works for both blu-ray and 4k blu-ray discs. Dolby Atmos audio playback definitely works on both formats
    now. Not sure if DTS:X outputs or not as I haven't tried the one DTS:X movie that I have on the Xbox one.

    Atmos not Working in Bluray App

    I have this same problem. I'm not getting the Atmos Bitstream from UHD Blu Ray discs. Games aren't a problem and the demo videos from the Atmos App work fine, i.e. my receiver shows Dolby Atmos. But when I play a UHD Disk from the Blu Ray app, it defaults
    to Dolby TrueHD. I'm pretty sure I've narrowed this down to an issue with the Blu Ray player App. The only thing I haven't tried, which I will tonight, is to uncheck the "Let my Receiver Decode" check box. Which shouldn't fix the problem, but I'll try it
    anyway.
