  1. Dolby Atmos audio cutout - Video Apps

I’ve read of this problem existing from Xbox One since 2017 and want to get to the root of this.

When I watch Netflix/Disney+ etc. I get intermittent audio drop/cut out for 2 seconds. Happens around every 20 minutes. I know Im not the only one.

I’ve ready examples of this happening with all sorts of TVs and Receivers with Xbox Dolby Atmos being the common denominator.

Please reply if you have this issue, and state your setup to raise aware ness.

My xbox is plugged in via HDMI 2.1 to Samsung Q80T passing through via eArc to a Samsung Q950T Soundbar.

    Let get this sorted.

Dolby Atmos on Xbox One X = issue !

    Hi RomiDumitru,

*maybe* this "problem" is exactly how the Dolby Atmos App on Xbox One X works.

Dolby Atmos native content? perfect! Dolby Atmos playback.

No Dolby Atmos? the App upmix current audio track to Dolby Atmos (the headphones features works in this way).

I don't know if is intentional.

Dolby Atmos for Headphones for Xbox

    Hello,

I have almost the same issue. I've bought Dolby Atmos for Headphones from Microsoft Store, connect my headset to controller and set audio output to Dolby Atmos in my Audio Settings page. But sometimes it is roll back to Windows Sonic! I've launch Dolby
Access app, check that in settings page selected Dolby Atmos For Headphones, close this app and get back to Audio Settings, change Windows Sonic to Dobly Atmos.

    Game audio not working

Open the Guide by pressing the Xbox button.

    Go to settings.

Then go to the Display & Audio settings.

Under the audio settings, check which audio format you use for your headphones.

If you set it to "Dolby Atmos", you need to have PURCHASED the Dolby Atmos for Headphones app. If you only got the free Dolby Atmos app, this will only give you 14 days of Dolby Atmos to test it out, and then stops working.

Try to change your audio format to Stereo or Windows Sonic (which is also a spatial 3D sound Format like Dolby Atmos).

    Does that work now?

    Dolby Atmos for Headphones question

If the game does not support Dolby Atmos, then the audio is normal stereo. Microsoft are working on updating Dolby Atmos, where if the game does not support Dolby, the audio will be converted to simulate Dolby Atmos.

My headset works on Party Chat on xbox one, but when playing videos and other sounds, I cannot hear any from my headset. What should I do?

Can you go to the console settings and under Video and Audio settings, check that game sound is also sent to the headphones, and not just TV.

You can then choose to have the sound in Stereo, Spatial 3D sound via Windows Sonic, and if you bought the Dolby Atmos App, also Dolby Atmos for Headphones.
