    Does Xbox One X play audio cds and 4K video files?


    Hi everyone,

    I was thinking of picking up an Xbox One X and wanted to confirm some of its multi media features, as I've been hearing conflicting info.

    1. Does the Xbox One X still have an Audio CD app that lets you play audio/music cds? And, if so, does it display the cd info on screen, like album titles, album picture, track titles, etc.?

    2. Also, does the Xbox One X Media App properly play 4K video files (mp4) from a USB stick?

    I know that the Xbox One S could NOT properly play 4K video files from a USB stick, whereas the PS4 Pro and standalone 4K players can.

    Has that been fixed with the Xbox One X?

    Hi all,

    I was just wondering if the Xbox One X fully supports 4K video files through the Media Player app.

    I know the S did not support 4K video files, but the PS4 Pro and standalone 4K players do.

    Does the Xbox One X now support 4K video file playback?

    I have the same problem but i cant even enable 5.1 audio Does Xbox One X play audio cds and 4K video files? :( i can enable 5.1 audio but if i select HDMI on video output, instead of automatic. But that only allows me to select 1080p resolution, not 4k. So i can only use 4k or 5.1 audio on Xbox One X

    Don'n buy it. Look at my case (and many others). Cd audio playback actually not working. Music Groove, Music autostart, audio cd

    In my opinion. It is only device to play games. Nothing more!

    Xbox One X Dolby Atmos not working

    My Xbox One X is connected to my receiver. When I try to setup Atmos in the audio settings Xbox One X says that my receiver, Denon AVR-4300H, does not have Atmos capability. I am only allowed to choose DTS for the bitstream sound output. Atmos works fine
    with my Samsung 4K player so I know it is an Xbox One X issue.

    The Dolby App does not give any error until I try to view the demo videos where it flashes, "you are not viewing this video on Dolby Atmos." It plays the demo video on DTS instead.
