Does Xbox live gold overlap months?

Just got an Xbox live gold gift card for one month, do I have to activate it at the start of a month? I just don't want to activate it now, and only get 7 days of gold.

The month starts from the time you add the card. So if you add it today it should end on May 23.

The Live will be added on to your current live, so if you had 14 days and added 7 more, you would have 21 days. That is how it works, nothing overlaps making you miss out.

So the xbox live gold had 12 months on it and game pass had 1 month. Does it mean I have 13 months now?

It works out cheaper to buy a 12 month Xbox Live Gold subscription, than it does to buy 12 one month Xbox Live subscriptions.

Just something to keep in mind.

What? How are you supposed to keep tenure then?

I thought you couldn't stack more than 36 months of Live? I only go 12 months at a time, purchasing a new subscription close to the end and only overlapping 1 month
