  1. Does the Xbox Series S Support an External Disk Drive

For someone already owning disks for xbox one to xbox, it's a hard pick when it comes to the next gen consoles. On one side, the Xbox Series X is amazing with it's disk drive, but not so much for the average consumer. The Xbox Series S looks amazing for
the average consumer but bad for people who own disks already. But what about people who are average consumers and like disk drives? There's no in between is the problem. However, the ability to plug in an external disk reader would be absolutely phenomenal.
Although the Xbox One S All Digital edition cannot accept external disk drives, I'm hoping the Series S can. If you can't, I'm also asking if there will be another way to where I can play old games on the Series S.

    :)

Why can’t you Microsoft people make the Xbox series s play discs

There is no optional disk drive for PlayStation. The Xbox series S does not have the necessary onboard hardware to support Xbox game discs

xbox series x seagate from xbox one not showing any games when plugged into the series x

    Hi,

Do you still have your Xbox One and does your external hard drive still work on that console?

I have successfully connected both my Seagate 'Game Drive' and my external SSD USB 3.0 drives to my Series S without any problems. All my installed games show up fine.

The Series X/S supports the same external drives as the Xbox One/S/X support. If your drive isn't being detected it's probably become corrupted or has a hardware issue.

Does the Xbox Series S Support an External Disk Drive

    Hi,

They won't ever release an external Blu-ray drive that you can plug in as such drives could be modified to run pirated games. It doesn't matter what security they to implement, some person or tech group would find a way to make it install pirated games.

The Series S is curious for sure. On the one hand it's an overall cheaper console for users on a budget, but if your Internet speed isn't great or you're on a connection with a data cap it could be a problem for a digital only console.

But, like I said, they won't release an external blu-ray drive.

No as it wouldnt have the drm controls or the speed needed for consistent reading not just any bluray would be needed

If you want disks why not just buy the full x series

You get more storage and a faster gpu and more ram and cpu and the drive which makes up for the addutional cost

    And graphics decrease

You do realize that going cheap doesnt end well right?. Even on pc the components are set cost as soon as you part it in the cost goes up even from base

You have a hdd nvme that has to be fast and double the size

You have gpu and cpu combo that needs to be upgraded

Plus you need a fast bluray drive that needs to have the drm controls

If you want disks you are better off with the full console cost you less per component

A bluray computer intrrnal drive aint cheap either 100 dollara and thata barebones

If yoi want a disk thats why there aretwo editions not one and as people did with the previous gen going digital only isnt a good idea thats why ms nade it optional with digital editions and disk consoles

Thencost savings isnt worth the performance hit

However for.peopke.on a budget it savings them.money back ut understsnding the cost they paid for.going slightly cheaper
