Does the Xbox One Day One digital share the same save as the normal version Retail

I was thinking about getting the new Sunset Overdrive Xbox One Bundle but my main problem is that i prefer getting the retail copies of games. (Call me old fashioned but nothing beats a physical copy of a game.) But I did some research and found out that
digital and retail versions of games have the same save file they never answered anything about next gen games. So would digital and retail versions have the same save file? Also, since the bundle comes with Day One would it have a different save file if I
bought its normal version through retail? Sorry this ended up being an essay but I really want the console and game. Thanks!

Digital downloads are a flop.

Yup I agrree.. next time I preorder the retail box version. No advantage with the digital version, the price is the same (I think its not normal...) and for some more hour you get the retail box, and you save more bandwith..

Dark Souls Digital/Gold Download Version Does Not Work With Retail Game Save

As the title state, the currently available Dark Souls digital download version for Gold members does not work with game saves from the retail disc version. I found this out because I originally had the retail disc version installed on my Xbox. However,
when I saw the digital version was available for free I figured I would install the entire thing, thus alleviating the need for the disc. The problem though, as many people have also discovered, is the digital version doesn't update. Despite what some may
think, and have stated in other posts, that it is at the current patch it is not. When I try to run the digital version and load my retail save it displays the following error:

Save file version differs from game version.

Sign in to Xbox LIVE to download update.

Closing game.

The game never closes but just locks at that error screen. If I restart the digital version it will not update. The only way to play my save is to play via the retail disc.

I'm glad this is available for free, but it is worthless if it can't be played - it can't be updated, people can't actually connect for any of the multi-player/online aspect, can not be used with retail saves. Please fix this. Thank you.

Yes the save files are identical whether it is physical or digital. For example because of EA Access I will be able to download and play Dragon Age Inquisition 5 days before launch. When I go and get my physical copy on the 18th then I can pick up right
where I left off and everything will already be installed.

Usually on Xbox 360, Games on Demand have no release parity with retail versions. This changed for Xbox One where the digital versions are all released on release day, but it's the same system on 360 that has been around for years and the only exception
I can think of is Call of Duty: Ghosts where the digital version did actually release on the same day.

Unfortunately there is usually no indication when the digital copy will become available on the digital marketplace and there is no set rule for when they do become available (it varies form game to game).

The digital copy of the game is the Better Together update meaning it is the Bedrock Edition which is crossplay enabled for Windows 10, Mobile, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

The digital version of Xbox One Edition is no longer available as it was replaced with the Bedrock version.

The Xbox One Edition of the game should still be in physical copy in some retailers.

Your download history will show that you bought the game for the 360 and should charge you the reduced price for the Xbox One. If you're able to buy it digitally in the UK now, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
