Does the Xbox Game Bar have an issue?

We understand the inconvenience caused. As per description, you encountered issues playing Diablo 4 on your PC Xbox Game Bar. You can see that you are online, but not remembering that it's a game.

Let us check on this together and sort this out to assist your concern. However, before we proceed, we would like to ask few questions about it.

1. Was this working before?
   
2. If yes, remember any change or activity made before the issue appeared?
   
3. May we know where you bought the game, Steam or Microsoft Store?
   
4. Did you install the game on Xbox or Steam?
   

These above questions would help us provide the necessary information. Once we have gathered all the information, we will formulate the viable solution to help you with your case.

For the time being, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. (You can just skip those you have done already).

• Check your Game Bar settings. Press the Start button, then choose Settings. Go to Gaming > Xbox Game bar, then turn on Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar. • If nothing happens when you press the Windows logo key + G, check your Xbox Game Bar settings. Open the Start menu, and select Settings > Gaming > Xbox Game Bar and make sure Enable Xbox Game Bar for things like recording game clips, chatting with friends, and receiving game invite is set to On. • If games aren’t recognized by Xbox Game Bar, you can add them to the games list. To do so, you’ll only need to launch the game, and then open Game Bar (Win + G), open Settings > and tick "Remember this is a game.

I have the same issue with Diablo IV on the xbox game bar. The game was install using battle.net. It appears the xbox game bar recognizes it is a game however, my status only shows online. I believe this is the only game so far that I have encounter this issue. The resources top task in the game bar shows battle.net as high and not Diablo IV, but the task manager shows Diablo IV. Call of Duty was installed using battle.net as well; however, xbox game bar shows the status as playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

Are you doing the VC through the Xbox app itself or through Game Bar? If you haven't tried Game Bar, then try it through that (Windows key + G). The Xbox App is not the greatest and has a history of issues.

Beyond that, what headset are you using? Does it have software? Is that where you are adjusting the mic sensitivity?

No, none. You really won't listen.

It is not a connection issue. It is an issue where GAME BAR does not properly resolve the steam link. This is a game bar issue, probably in the registry. Unlike my former windows 10 machine, there is no xboxlive registry entry for sea of thieves, and I do not know why this is.

The accounts are linked. The game works. The game bar works. Everything works, except this message pops up when I try to use game bar to join game or accept an invite. I can play Sea of Thieves online via xbox services on steam. THAT WORKS. But the game bar does not resolve join/accept protocols properly.

If you are not equipped to troubleshoot this level of technical issue, GET SOMEONE ELSE!

PS. on windows 11 support for Xbox Console Companion is ending THIS MONTH. It is already delisted from the main store. Everything connection wise is fine and you keep insisting it is a connection issue.
