Does the original halo 2 multiplayer go online on xbox live in ranked matches?

Just got the game and yes, there's a playlist just for halo 2 classic multiplayer maps. There's more playlists to come probably.

(Ranked coming in later update; there's no ranked playlists yet)

I know you can rank up separately offline .

What I cant remember is if ranking up online counts toward the offline part too.

But I know ranking up offline will NOT count toward ranked matches online .. It may for private matches.

Same thing with ct ..... ranking up in ranked multiplayer does not count toward ct and ct does not count toward ranked online multiplayer.

Confusing ..............

Pretty sure 2-day trials don't have the same privileges as Xbox Live Gold. Even on multiplayer there are restrictions to some games. If I remember correctly, on Halo 3 you couldn't play ranked matches with a 2-day trial.

Halo 3 was a great system. Had your rank for ranked matches and rank for social matches. Halo 2 also featured a great ranking system.

Sorry to hear it. First, it seems that quite a few people were having trouble with the Halo servers yesterday. Hopefully that will have been resolved by now.

As for the membership a trial membership only gives some access to Live features and is usually limited to the game the code came with. Although you can play online multiplayer with a trial membership you will not be able to play any online ranked matches.
If you want to play online make sure the matches you want to play are not ranked.
