Does the Lotus F1 car race against other F1 cars in the Formula series?

Has anyone bought the Lotus F1 car for the Formula series in Forza 5? I ask because I loaded the Renualt Spark and I wound up racing against other regular cars. I'm not sure I want to spend $2mil credits to get a F1 car and still race against BMWs and Corvettes.
What's the point?

Codemasters introducing DRM on Xbox 360. Will it harm Xbox One sales?

If anything, I think it'll only hurt Codemasters as T10 has announced that they will feature F1 cars in Forza 5. It may only be the Lotus F1 car right now, but it also has the '76 Ferrari 312 and the '76 McLaren M23.

so why didnt i have to purchase the other 4 cars? Those were all in my garage. I got the shelby and the Lotus F1 car All 4 cars were in the gifts section of the game and i downloaded them So wheres my bugatti?

Well, I we ahead and bought the Modern Formula car, and man I is awesome! But a major issue: The Long Beach Grand Prix has some major code flaws. The car for some reason stalls coming out of the exit of 5 and 6 everything, and then sometimes out of turn
8.

The car rolls through corner great, I get the Good Turn notice, but then it slows down, like it may be hitting the brakes, because then it does downshift and gets going. I've raced the track enough to know the difference that something is really happening,
and this is the 3rd track I've raced the F1 car, Spa and Silverstone first, each track about 4-5 races.

I managed a 3rd place finish so I'm leaving this issue behind now.

Someone asked Codemasters what the story was with the license agreement. Apparently other games can get individual cars but they can not race against other cars. You can have multiple copies of that same car in the same race though. So it will be like a
spec series with hopefully different paint jobs.

My game is crashing on the single player championships. Just got my Lotus F1 car and I can't finish the series because the game crashes to Xbox One main screen when I try to start the race. It crashes on freeplay also and every other category in the single
player game.

Ok I have two S class cars that are the best and you should get. first if you are racing in a circuit that has a lot of curved roads I recommend LOTUS EVORA TYPE124, (good handling and breaking.) If you are racing in a place that has lots of strait roads
then I recommend McLaren F1 (one of the fastest S Class cars)
