Does the HBO Now app support 5.1 audio?

    Does the HBO Now app support 5.1 audio?


    Will the HBO Now app produce 5.1 (or better yet 7.1) audio out to my AV receiver via HDMI?

    Or is it just stereo like the Chromecast HBO Now app?

    HBO NOW/GO

    HBO GO is for cable subscribers which has an Xbox app. This is why the options are all for cable providers and does not include Apple. HBO NOW is the direct HBO subscription through iTunes/Apple which does NOT (currently) have an Xbox app. I'm in the exact
    same boat. There is a kind of lame workaround though (link below) but requires an additional subscription app to work.

    They don't even support the HBO Go app and their own app does not even work. Maybe it time for me to change providers.

    I can confirm that the Xbox One does not support 5.1 still haven't tested 360 yet

    Are there any plans to enable 5.1 (or higher) on this app? Disappointing that it's only in stereo.

    HBO    . We do not handle development of the app, and are not aware of any updates that would include that.

    5.1 Center Channel not working with certain apps (HBO Go, Amazon Prime, Xfinity)

    TV Tuner Stereo output only?

    I'm having the same issue. I had the HomeWorx connected to my Xbox and I had 5.1 audio from most HD channels, probably because it was via HDMI. Now, there is no 5.1 audio via USB. My opinion, the TV app needs to be updated to support 5.1 audio via USB.
