Does skulls disable achievements?

I want to start playing all the campaigns on legendary, but I'm afraid the achievements won't unlock because I have some skulls enabled. The 2 in particular I use only is the bandana skull and grunt birthday party skull. And I'm aware of the achievements
glitches in the campaigns. Any help would be appreciated

I'm not surprised that mods would disable achievements. Even activating certain skulls in Halo games would disable achievements.

To activate skulls, you need to go to the game you want and then select missions rather than quickplay. Then just select the mission you want to start with, whether you want scoring and/or the timer on and then you can activate skulls.

Granted, the game is quite buggy at the moment and seems to be getting worse by the hour, so there is a chance that they may not work regardless of what you do.

Also, bear in mind that 343 supposedly made it so that any skulls that make the game too easy, like the bandana skull does, disable the ability to earn any achievements whist the skull is active.

 

I used Scarab skull and envy skull while playing on legendary and i earned achievements just fine, at least when i was hunting hidden skulls. What it does disable is scoring and therefore if you try to get scores while playing you won't get achievements
for that. I never tried this on my first play through, when this game came out, so i don't know for sure. I hope that helps.

 

Grunt Birthday wont affect the achievements but the Bandana may.

 

I use Bandana Skull and Scarab Skull, and I was still able to get achievements.
