Does redownloading authenticator allow you to add it back to your account?

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you accidentally removed your account from your authenticator and you want to add it back. To add Authenticator as a way to sign in every time, follow these steps:

On your computer, go to Advanced security options in your Microsoft account dashboard.

Scroll down to the Two-step verification section and choose to turn the feature On.

Follow the instructions shown on the screen.

Note: As part of setting up this account, you’ll be given a QR code to scan with your device; this is one way we ensure you are in physical possession of the device you are installing the Authenticator app on.

Also, on your new phone, do you tried to download the authenticator app and add that account there to use this new phone as authenticator for your account?

If the date of birth you registered indicates that you're legally an adult now, then there should be an option on your console in Account Management which will allow you to "Promote" your account to adult status. It will require you add a credit card to
the account to verify that you're an adult. Banks used to allow Microsoft to verify the authenticity of the card by removing $1 from the account and immediately putting it back in, but as transactions cost money, most banks no longer allow this, and require
such interactions to result in something that sticks, so MS will charge $0.50, which will be donated to a charity, if I understand the whole thing correctly. In the end, though, it should free you from your Child Account status and the occasional restrictions
that represents.

Make sure you have the authentication feature setup on your account as well.

Nothing will happen to it, and if it does, Xbox will get it back for you.

They take these things seriously.

Pretty unwarranted to be honest I've had an account with blizzard since wow existed and had 5 running simultaneously before battlenet which allowed you to merge all your accounts and have never had any trouble.

As unreal said add an authenticator for peace of mind.
