Does my Controller Warranty Cover for my battery pack when I go to return it? Or will I...

Hey when i tried to request a return for my controller, it says it couldn't find an accessory. It also said that my controller wasn't covered by warranty even though my Xbox One is covered? Is there a number so i can call Microsoft? Thanks for the help i

Is this the only battery pack you have?

Try with an older battery to see if this still happens.

This happened to me few years ago. I bought the red controller and Saints Row 2. I didnt use my controller right away since my blue one still had some juice in it.

3 weeks later my blue battery finally runs out so I open the red controller and I began to use it.

Next week the battery dies and when I tried to charge it, I had the same exact problem. I was using everything that came with the red controller...controller, battery pack and the play and charge cable. I used my old charge cable and it wouldn't work. I used
my old white and blue battery packs and those would charge with the new cable.

It turned out that the new battery wouldn't hold a charge at all.

I was lucky since Target has a 90 day warranty with receipt so I was able to exchange it for a new one. Returning the Kit mught be your only solution.

Are you using batteries or the charger pack? If you are using batteries ensure that they are not low on charge(Just covering all the bases). If you are using a rechargeable pack, charge the batteries to full before playing and then give it another go. If
the problem persists and the controller continues to disconnect I suggest the following - If you have a spare battery pack try this on the controller and ensure that the battery pack is not loose, I have had this problem before and it may just be that the
vibration from the controller is moving around the loose battery pack.

I exchanged the controller under warranty after having spoken to Microsoft and receiving a Fault/Return Number from them. The shop replaced the controller with a brand new one. This controller works fine with sound and was the old controller was definitely
the cause of the problem

However, this brand new controller now won't charge with the Microsoft Play and Charge Kit—the Orange/White lights do not show on the USB lead and the Xbox one s system does not show the battery as being charged. Bear in mind this is a brand new controller
and the Play and Charge Kit is less than 6 months old and worked fine with the old controller.

Having done a little online research into this problem, I tried a fix that someone suggested (to place a thin cardboard shim under the battery) and the controller and battery will now charge correctly. The lights show on the USB lead and the xbox one s system
shows the battery as being charged. However, as a result of that small increase in battery height I cannot easily replace the controller battery cover as I'm concerned about breaking the holding lugs. So at the moment it's charging without the battery cover
in place.

My question then is this: should I continue with this inconvenient (with regards to not being able to replace the battery cover) fix or simply get the new controller replaced again under warranty in the hope the replacement controller will charge correctly?

Have your controller replaced. You shouldn't have to makeshift/bandaid your controller.... that's what the warranty is for!

the battery pack fits as in clips in but it seems as if the controller does not recognise it as a battery pack (i mean the controller what came with the slim). the battery pack works fine as i have tried it on a older controller (a controller from my previous
console but one i brought like 2 months ago). the battery does not power the controller nore does it get charged by the controller when the cable is plugged in. the charge cable fits in fine and powers the controller when it is plugged in. there is nothing
wrong with the battery or cable it is the new controller what has been made not to fit the old battery pack so Microsoft make more money as you have to buy a new charge kit. its a robbery unless its my new controller what is not working properly then i will
more then happily send it away to get repaired with no expense from me as it has never worked from the start and do not believe i should pay for something to be fixed what was broke when it was shipped in that condition.
